Go global with EQuest! This Vietnamese edtech firm has an extensive private school ecosystem that caters to students from K12, college, vocational courses, and online platforms.

  • They offer accredited US associate degrees and IB diplomas via their member schools, Broward College and Canadian International School (CIS).

Investor check. They raised $120M from KKR’s Global Impact Fund, which includes debt from an undisclosed creditor!

  • EQuest was first backed by KKR in 2021, where they reportedly raised $100M. They also raised a Series A in 2016 from TAEL Partners.

🔍A little bit of edtech history

EQuest was formed through a merger between EQuest Academy and other local education groups in 2013. While they have a brick-and-mortar presence, they also have an edtech arm with companies like: iSmart, MegaEdu, MegaSchool, Blue Ocean and Blue Whale.

  • The iSMART program teaches Math and Science subjects in English using digital lessons and online tutoring.
  • MegaEdu and MegaSchool specialize in online teaching. Oh, and tBlue Ocean creates e-learning products.

🔤 The ABCs of EQuest

Aside from using edtech to teach more students, EQuest is also a big supporter of bilingual and global education.

  • They’ve been offering fully-credited US associate degree programs under Broward College Vietnam for over 10 years.
  • They even claim that their students can complete a US degree for only $7,000 a year!

👀 What’s with the $$$?

EQuest will be using the funding to open more Broward colleges in Ho Chi Minh city, Hue, and Hanoi!

  • The $$$ will also go to the CIS system, where EQuest will update facilities, hire more teachers, and employ sports coaches.
