$14M to bring equal education across Vietnam

September 9, 2022
Edupia

Kids, meet Vietnam's Edupia! This online learning platform for kids just raised a $14M Series A.

  • They're bridging the gap between Vietnam's big cities (that have access to tons of resources) versus small cities and rural areas.
  • They're set to go past their $100M revenue target in the next three years.
  • They have 5M users, including 400,000 paying students.

Investor check. Jungle Ventures led the round. eWTP Capital and ThinkZone Ventures also joined in.

๐Ÿคจ How it works

They were founded in 2018, and they started teaching English language to kids online through self-paced classes. Now, they run courses, live classes and private tutoring sessions.

  • The self-learning options are the first point of contact with users.

What's different? Their online classes give a similar experience to offline learning โ€” instead of being totally different from offline learning. So, teachers still assign homework, evaluate student progress and order tons of activities for students to try out for student engagement.

๐Ÿ’ฐ What's with the $$$?

They'll be upgrading their tutoring platform! They'll also be hiring for C-level positions and senior managers as they scale and ramp up international expansion.

  • Most of their users are in Vietnam, but they're also expanding to other SEA markets like Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. Oh, and they'll add more subjects, including math and coding.
