Founded in 2012, they started as an aquaculture media platform. Need to know the latest news on seafood prices? They’ve got you covered. 

Introducing hardware. They started their new business line Farmext — the hardware and software help farmers reduce the risks involved in their shrimp farming operations. 

• They automate feeding through a remote controlled feeder, monitor water quality, and help farmers track data to save labor and energy costs! 

Tepbac has served 1,500 farms of all sizes. This includes small and large farms, as well as shrimp processing plants and governmental entities!

🦐 Lots of shrimp

Did you know? Southeast Asia is the largest shrimp producer in the world. Shrimp farming has been one of the most profitable food systems in SEA. 

It’s not just about shrimp farming though. So many shrimp-related activities are part of the value chain! This includes equipment, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, transport, R&D.

Diseased. Viral, bacterial and fungal diseases are common pains in the industry.

• Despite measures, diseases evolve and outbreaks can still happen. 

The environment. Environmental concerns are also a major pain point. 

• Water quality is not what it used to be. It’s become much harder to raise healthy shrimp. 

Input costs. The price of feed also impacts farmers’ livelihoods. Rising cost of raw materials and fuel have raised their costs to run shrimp farms.
