Go green with Apeiron Bioenergy! This Singapore-based startup collects food and agricultural waste and refines them into raw materials that can be converted to clean biofuel.

Investor check. They got the $$$ from a five-year senior unsecured green bond guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility and an ASEAN+3 initiative.

  • The bond was rated AA by S&P Intelligence.

🐷 Let’s get cooking

Apeiron collects waste like used cooking oils (UCO) and turns them into biofuel feedstocks—or raw materials for composting!

  • They refine raw UCO to meet commodity-grade standards before using it as feedstocks to produce biofuel.
  • UCO offers the highest greenhouse gas emissions savings, so its a great biomass resource.

It’s clean. Their refined UCO product is certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification.

🛢️ Is that oil?

Apeiron’s funding is the first ever bioenergy-focused SGD bond issuance in Asia.

  • They’ve supplied over 600 million liters of UCO since 2017.
  • Scoop: UCOs are major feedstocks for biodiesel products like sustainable aviation fuel.

🪔 What the future holds?

They’ll use the $$$ toward capital expenditure and asset improvement for collection points and pre-treatment facilities in the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
