$3M for this gaming studio’s debut game

March 19, 2024

Feel-ine good. That’s definitely what Singapore’s 9 Lives Interactive would say. They just raised a $3M round for their cat-themed debut game, Nyan Heroes.

  • Founded in 2021, they’re an independent gaming studio formerly known as Rude Robot Studios.
  • Currently in pre-alpha, Nyan Heroes already has 13,000 sign ups

Investor check. Mechanism Capital led the round. Delphi Digital, Sfermion, 3Commas Capital, Momentum 6, Kosmos Ventures, Devmons GG, and CSP DAO also joined in!

🎮 More than just a game

Welcome to the Nyan Heroes world. You’ll be playing as one of their “Robot Cats” who are ultra-powerful and have customizable weapons (think Gundam or Mazinger Z, but cats). And here, you’re teaming up with others in competitive shooting battles to save the world!

  • They’re developing it as a AAA game. High-budget and high-profile, like The Last of Us and Assassin’s Creed.

Built for mass adoption. With cat-inspired IP and a unique gameplay experience, they’re building it as a game for players of all ages and genders.

Designed by pros. The multi-award winning team behind Nyan Heroes are veterans from leading gaming studios like A, Bungie, and Ubisoft, with senior advisors from Riot Games and Twitch.

  • The latest tech. They’re using Unreal Engine 5, the latest 3D computer graphics game engine that makes games realistic and highly detailed. Oh, and blockchain too.

🤩 Talking about the future

The game is set for early access on the Epic Games Store from March 26 to April 9.

  • They also have Airdrop missions that allow the community to access NYAN, the blockchain token that powers the Nyan Heroes ecosystem.
