Accredify raises Series A extension from NASDAQ-listed Okta

March 22, 2024

Get that verified with Accredify! This Singapore-founded startup allows businesses to issue, manage, and verify documents from end to end. Founded in 2019, they just raised a Series A extension from a strategic investor, Okta.

Investor check. Okta Ventures invested.

  • Accredify last raised a $7M Series A in 2023 co-led by iGlobe Partners and SIG Venture Capital.
  • Okta is the world’s leading independent identity management platform and is listed on NASDAQ.

📄 How it works

Once a document is "Accredified" it is already digitized, shareable, and easily verifiable.

Here’s the process. When a company works with Accredify, they create an identity for the client on the blockchain to create a wallet (or a document store) on the blockchain network.

  • Whenever the company issues a verifiable document with Accredify, the document's digital fingerprint is captured and stored in their document store on the blockchain.
  • When you verify an Accredified document, the contents of the document are checked against the fingerprint in the document store on the blockchain—to verify the match.

The real deal

Their solution has been used commercially by governments and corporations across multiple markets!

  • Examples? Singapore's Ministry of Health for health certifications and  Singapore's Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority to launch verifiable business profiles.

And this is why Okta invested in Accedify. They’ve had successful commercial use cases across multiple industries—most providers focus on just one.

🔜 What’s next?

Accredify will integrate Okta’s digital identity management solutions into their own products for their clients to benefit from. They’ll also leverage their partnership with Okta to bring their own tech to global markets!
