Break up with your grocery. Say hi to BuiltaMart! They're a Philippine e-grocery startup focused on same-day deliveries. Oh, and they just raised a $3M seed to get their #premium groceries to you even quicker.

• Grabbed that expertise? Builtamart's co-founder and CEO, Justin Tee headed GrabFood, GrabKitchens and GrabMart in the Philippines.

Who cashed in? Gentree Fund led the round. Alpha JWC, DayOne Ventures and some angels also joined in.

Order online through BuiltaMart's website or through GrabMart, Lazada or Pick-a-Roo! They've got everything you want and need — fruits and vegetables, electronics, seafood, baby products, wine, ready-to-eat meals, flowers and all the works!

• Get your order between 30 minutes to three hours, depending on where you are in Metro Manila.

💨  Not so fast

While some may call BuiltaMart quick commerce, they don't aim for 15-minute grocery deliveries. (Admit it, even an hour or two is fast for your weekly groceries!)

• Instead of a quick-commerce model, they're more of a cloud kitchen for premium groceries.
• Other e-groceries take time, usually offering slot-based deliveries in the morning or afternoon scheduled one or more days in advance.

😋  The secret's in the selection

A better selection and better quality items is their plan to beat local competitors, which include SariSuki's Supah (quick commerce) and e-groceries like MetroMart.

Even the hard-to-find! We saw mushroom risotto, pecorino cheese, and other grocery items we rarely see carried online. (And if they were, they were always out of stock!)

💰 What's with the $$$?

They're setting up their next two hubs and looking to raise a pre-Series A in the next few months. On the tech side, they're streamlining their sales channels, automating systems and improving their own customer-facing platform.
