Bugged by food waste? Here's Ento Industries! Founded in 2020, this Singapore-based startup uses insects and tech to convert low-value organic waste into high-value products like nutrient-rich feed and organic fertilizer. Now, they've just raised new growth funding!

Investor check. This undisclosed round was led by two ESG-focused private investors, Tak Wai Chung (co-founder of Xcelerate Group) and Te-Ling Nai.

  • They are also backed by Tiong Lam Supplies, a food waste management company in Singapore.

🗑️ Does food waste have a second life?

12% of all waste generated in Singapore is food waste, yet only 18% of that in 2022 was recycled. Like many developed nations, Singapore is facing the increasing problem of food waste.

But instead of only viewing food waste as a problem, Ento sees this as an opportunity. Their secret weapon? An army of black soldier flies.

  • Now, organic food waste that would typically end up in landfills is now transformed into safe and traceable high-value products.

💰 What's the buzz about?

Thanks to black soldier flies, Ento converts organic waste into products like protein-rich animal feed and organic fertilizer!

  • They sell these products on platforms such as Shopee and Lazada.
  • Grab a snack for your furry friend too! They've got good dog cookies infused with insect protein.
  • They're reliable. With a fully traceable end-to-end supply and distribution chain, Ento Industries guarantees the safety and quality of their products.

So, the next time you see a fly, it might just be one of Ento’s secret weapons in the fight against food waste.
