Har Har Chicken raises funding to build F&B brands in Singapore

July 26, 2024

It’s no secret we Asians love chicken. And Har Har Chicken is betting on that! The homegrown Singaporean takeaway stall just raised funding led by East Ventures.

They’re here (or should we say har?) to build accessible and scalable Singaporean food brands, starting with Har Har Chicken!

🐔 The star of the show

For this brand, it’s none other than the Singaporean classic har cheong gai, or prawn paste chicken offered in various forms: fried wings, popcorn chicken, burgers—you name it, they got it.

🧐 The backstory

Four friends came together to put up the concept: food personality and chef Lennard Yeong, chef-owner of Michelin-star resto LG Han, restaurateur Tay Jianli, and Bevin Desker, former employee of foodtech TiffinLabs.

The common denominator? Fried chicken and their love for har cheong gai.

After two years and 12 rounds of recipes, the recipe for Har Har Chicken! was born.

  • Goodbye difficult bulk orders, hello to a wide menu with lotsa portion sizes!

🎉 Har Har Hooray!

They opened their first branch last July 5 at Bishan's Junction 8 Mall!

🔜 What’s next?

Start local, go international. They plan to expand to three branches in Singapore, with the goal to expand across the country and in other markets in 2025.

Foodies can look forward to yummier, crunchier prawn paste chicken! Thanks to the new $$$, they’ll be focusing more on quality checks and smoother operations.
