It’s time to decarbonize! Here’s HiFeed, an Indonesian startup that’s selling high-quality cattle feed to reduce the carbon footprint from cattle farming and promote sustainable farming practices.

  • And they just raised their pre-seed round!

Investor check. Wavemaker Impact led the round.

  • The amount raised is undisclosed.

🐄 Beef it up

Livestock production contributes around 11 to 17% of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs).

The biggest source of livestock emissions? The digestive process (enteric fermentation) of cattle produces methane, which cattle emit through burping.

  • Besides this, feed production, energy, and processing can also emit GHGs.

🤠 Where HiFeed comes in

HiFeed produces high-quality and affordable feed pellets that can enhance cattle health and lower the carbon intensity of cattle farming.

  • They also provide tools to help farmers measure and reduce their carbon emissions to achieve net-zero targets while improving profitability.

Long-term plans? HiFeed will expand their research and development efforts, enhance their tech infrastructure, and scale their solutions to reach more farmers.
