Hive Health raises $6.5M Pre-Series A to bring accessible insurance to Filipinos

July 26, 2024

Join the Hive! Philippine-founded healthtech Hive Health just raised $6.5M in a Pre-Series A round.

  • Founded in 2021, they help MSMEs and startups by providing affordable and hassle-free HMO health insurance through their all-in-one platform!

Investor check. Gentree Fund and BEENEXT co-led the round. Y Combinator, The Graduate Syndicate, and Oak Drive Ventures also joined in.

👻 Goodbye health insurance nightmares

Why it matters. Health insurance is usually too complex to understand, not to mention expensive for most Filipinos!

And even if you have insurance, you may even have to wait long for your approvals. Oh, and you might not even know what your coverage is and where you can go to get the services you need.

The solution

All in one. Hive Health uses data to tailor-fit HMO health insurance plans, streamline customer experience, and gain access to the country’s top healthcare providers through their network.

  • These plans cover outpatient, inpatient, emergency, mental health, maternity, dental care, and more across their network.
  • Their network spans 1,700 hospitals and clinics and 60,000 doctors across the Philippines.

Keeping it simple. Their digital platform lets you get approval requests, view plan benefits, find providers, schedule exams, and access your records online!

  • They even offer on-demand video teleconsultations.

🚀 Onto even better things

Just last year, they acquired Health Plans Philippines Inc. (HPPI), one of the country’s leading HMO health insurance providers known to have one of the most extensive networks.

  • What does this mean? Users! The acquisition scales up Hive Health’s user base and brings together their tech and HPPI’s institutional knowledge.
