Bjorn Pardo is the Co-Founder of AHG Lab, the Philippines' largest independent venture builder. He's a serial tech entrepreneur and is now helping fellow entrepreneurs build the ventures of their dreams.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

I help passionate entrepreneurs build the next generation of Philippine tech ventures by providing end-to-end operational support and hands-on advisory support from a diverse team of entrepreneurs, operators and investors.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

On my side, my "tech" career began over 20 years ago selling scanners on eBay.

On the AHG Lab side, you don't need to be an experienced entrepreneur to become one of our Founders. All you need is a problem that needs solving and the passion to build a solution for it.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

I would say bootstrapping my first tech venture Xend all the way to market leadership in a very competitive e-commerce logistics industry.

But more importantly, it was waking up the sleeping giants and disrupting the age-old logistics industry that paved the way for the e-commerce explosion that was yet to come.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?‍

For me, it's less about existing trends and more about finding entrepreneurs who have gained unique insights in a particular space that have the potential to set a trend.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

I will answer that with one of my favorite Steve Jobs quotes:

"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

Everything I have done thusfar professionally has always been about leveling the playing field for entrepreneurs by providing a product/service that is normally reserved for larger companies.

So I could talk for hours about all the hard and valuable lessons I learned over the 20+ years of building ventures in multiple industries that would help any entrepreneur shortcut their way to success.

🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?

I have been a fan of the time travel genre since I was a kid, and if I had to choose 1, my all-time favorite movie would be Back to the Future 2.

🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?‍

For me, it's more about the type of ice cream than the actual flavor, so my go-to type is Turkish ice cream because of its chewy consistency.
