Fannie Lin is the co-founder and CEO of Ailiverse, an AutoDL platform that allows you to create custom computer vision models with less data than ever. They recently raised their pre-seed from Entrepreneur First.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

We are making Deep Learning more accessible to industries. The product we are creating, the Ailiverse No-Code AutoDL platform, allows users to build their bespoke Computer Vision models with only 10% of the training data (as compared to the conventional development approach) in an easy and efficient way.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

I got my Ph.D. in engineering at 26. And I was running an education startup on the side and teaching social dance for fun at the same time.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

I immediately jumped into entrepreneurship after graduating with my Ph.D. degree. While Ailiverse was still in the Entrepreneur First Singapore program, we were the first and only team to pass the early investment committee in our cohort. And we hit 5 figures in revenue from pilots in four months from customers in Singapore and the US.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?‍

This is definitely AI and Deep Learning.

This recent decade has seen a significant increase in AI-related startups globally. However, only a few organizations have started their AI transformation journeys to accelerate their growth and maximize efficiency and profits.

That is because there are still a lot of obstacles to pursuing this initiative, like data scarcity, lack of expertise, huge computation, extensive R&D time, etc. Thus, there is still a long way to go for the global AI community to really democratize this technology. Ailiverse and I are proud to be part of this journey.

Listen to your inner voice and passion first.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

Exciting stuff! Startups, for sure, and adventurous sports like sailing, skiing, rock climbing, etc. And Salsa! 💃

Rocky — the greatest exhibition of guts and stamina.
