👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
We recruit, hire, and retain employees for businesses. In other words, we tailor-fit outsourcing solutions for companies outside the Philippines.
By providing them with skills, cost savings and management support, they can focus on their core competencies and business growth.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
There are a lot of learnings that come with collaborating with startups from different industries. I've been given the chance to understand different business intricacies, study various market trends, and be immersed in work cultures and environments. The insights and experiences keep me on my toes.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
There have been some great highlights in 2022.
Co-founding the annual Tech2Transform initiative with I-WE (Indian Women Entrepreneurs). This initiative was fulfilling as we got to empower fellow women in building their MSMEs through mentorship, training, and technology amidst the continuing global recession.
Reconnecting at an international outsourcing conference as a keynote speaker to discuss 21st Century Skills for the 21st Century Customers. The insights from my research and the challenge to strengthen my communication skills were a personal fulfillment.
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
As 80% of my clients are in the startup space in North America, I see a lot of movement in industries like real estate, fintech, community building, and lifestyle.
But I believe the biggest catalyst is fintech — it's a space that I know Asia can truly own. Having that insight from the clients I work with allows me to see how big our potential is as a region.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Client meetings should be more free-flowing, a discussion rather than a one-way street. Take it as an opportunity to collaborate and bounce off ideas from each other in order for both parties to achieve the maximum results.
The outsourcing industry stems from collaborations between different countries and industries. Thus, these discussions pave the way for mutual understanding – the key to fulfilling your vision and achieving success.
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
Balance. I believe in the importance of balance between personal and professional growth, balance between experience and learning, and balance between work and life.
🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?
I'm quite intrigued by British history, having lived in the UK, so I would say The Crown.
🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?
Dark chocolate!
