Jialu Zhong is the co-founder of heymax.ai, a fintech startup that doubles your miles and helps you fund your next trip!
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I am one of the cofounders from heymax.ai, a fintech startup that double dips your miles and helps you fund your next trip.
My role encompasses both the technical aspects of software engineering and the strategic vision of product leadership. My primary objective is to lead our team in crafting a product that is not only robust, scalable, and secure but also seamlessly aligns with the needs and expectations of our users.
This involves delving deep into understanding the challenges and pain points faced by our users when it comes to maximizing their miles and planning their next adventure. By empathizing with our users, I guide the development process towards solutions that enhance usability and elevate the overall experience of interacting with our platform.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
Being a B2C startup, prioritizing user-centricity is the key. Without actively engaging with users, you'll never know whether people like or dislike the product being developed. And yes, at heymax.ai, we reinforce this approach by hosting monthly user parties at our office, fostering direct interaction with our users.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
The biggest highlight is the transitioning from the big tech to the startup world, particularly within the fintech sector.
It is filled with both challenges and opportunities for growth. It has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, embrace uncertainty, and adapt to the dynamic pace of startup life.
Moreover, this experience has broadened my perspective and enriched my skill set, enabling me to thrive in diverse environments and contribute to the tech industry on a global scale.
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
Fintech and AI—as this aligns closely with the focus of our startup (heymax.ai), and presents exciting opportunities for innovation and impact.
I am looking forward to seeing how the arising technology would revolutionize the personal finance world.
