👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I build teams for different departments and get them to work together! A big part of my role is also to bridge gaps within the organization.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
Contrary to popular belief, the COO role is actually fun. I enjoy working every single day, and it gets even better when the community benefits from our work!
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
As a B2B2C startup, Tictag works with companies to address their data needs. We take their data requirements and send them to our users on the mobile application to collect, categorize and label data.
There are many highlights, like being able to work side by side with my trusted team, but the biggest highlight to date would be this story that I would continue to share today:
In December 2020, we had our first project to draw 40,000 bounding boxes and categorize them into their respective types. We ran a data tagging event during the Christmas season that lasted nearly 20 days.
We incentivized the crowd working on our mobile application to compete for prizes like a gaming chair and iPad. Everything was business as usual, and we were very focused on ensuring that the work we needed to complete was done on time.
Finally, when we tabulated the results, we realized that the winner of our grand prize was an old lady doing tagging during her kidney dialysis sessions at the National Kidney Foundation.
It was definitely a highlight for me as it made us reflect on how Tictag brings social impact to our users and reminded us to continue doing good!
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
Artificial Intelligence Projects using Audio data.
We are seeing an increase in companies looking to annotate and prepare audio-related data for many groundbreaking use cases.
