Justin Tan is the co-founder of Perfect Nature, a Singaporean healthcare and lifestyle products and services holding company. 

Perfect Nature is the parent company of Snuugo, a wearable breast pump brand. They just raised a $1M seed.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

My health and lifestyle company Perfect Nature was created because as an engineer, husband, father, and compulsive problem solver, I wanted to use my knowledge and expertise to come up with solutions that empower parents to have more time and freedom to do the things they love and spend quality time with their families. 

Our flagship product is a hands-free smart wearable breast pump that'll do exactly that.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

I think people would be surprised to learn that the creators of a breast pump product are two guys and two lazy guys at that. 

But as the saying goes, laziness is the father of innovation. When we first began parenthood, one of the biggest hurdles was helping our wives with breastfeeding. 

Since we don't own any active mammary glands, the least we could do was to help with the washing, charging, and storing, of the pumps and bottles. That's when we were inspired to go on this journey to help more moms in similar situations.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

The biggest highlight of my career so far would be seeing the delight on mothers' faces when they see our product and learn of the benefits that they would enjoy when using it.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?‍

AI is definitely something that I am looking at this year, I feel that processes that can be automated will benefit from this technology enabling quicker analysis with less room for error.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry? 

Identify the issue/s that the consumer is facing, come up with multiple solutions, and do a deep analysis of how each solution can solve the issue/s. Always have Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C as things do not always turn out the way you expect them to.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours? 

For now, it would be the joys (and pains) of parenthood.
