Kevin Davis is the co-founder and CEO of Persona Studios, an AI startup that uses personas to automate long conversations and first calls. If a person does the same call over and over for 20-60 minutes for any reason, we automate it!
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I lead an AI startup to help automate repeat calls.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
I’m a 3x founder and sold my previous company after scaling nationwide in the US, gave up everything in the US to move to Southeast Asia, and also served the entire Kardashian family ice cream for my second startup.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
Sold my first company for 8 digits.
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
AI Fatigue. Obviously AI will be around to stay for a long time, but last year where anything AI was incredible, now we are a bit desensitized and care more about how useful the AI is in real life rather than just being a magic trick.
We built Persona Sudios because we were tired of seeing the same “ask one question get one answer” and wished AI would lead conversations or be more interesting to talk to for long periods of time, which is how we are building with AI fatigue in mind.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Solve a real problem with AI and battle test it. Once the magic has worn off, is your AI solution truly better than what’s out there? What KPIs are you tracking that your solution directly impacts using AI?
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
Differences of US tech scene vs Southeast Asia, scaling a marketplace using unconventional tactics (eg, don’t saturate city by city but start nationwide).
🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?
Arcane, the Boys, and Last of Us
🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?
Cookies and cream
