Kim Nguyen is the co-founder of Aniday (formerly known as Recruitery). They’re an all-in-one hiring platform that helps founders grow their teams and hire compliantly—without the high fees of traditional recruitment agencies.
They’ve built a platform that connects employers with a global network of headhunters, making hiring faster, smarter, and more affordable. Their clients now span across APAC and the US, and 95% of their revenue comes from the global market.
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I help companies find the right people to grow their teams and pay them smoothly, no matter where they are in the world.
I co-founded Aniday, a platform that connects employers with talented people through a network of headhunters. We’re like matchmakers for businesses, helping them hire the best talent quickly and efficiently across Asia and the US. It’s all about making hiring easy and building connections that work!
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
What might surprise you is that I didn’t come from a recruiting or headhunting background!
But I saw a big gap in the market: job boards felt outdated, and traditional headhunting was way too expensive
So, we built Aniday—a platform that taps into an existing global network of headhunters, all without hiring any in-house recruiters. It's about using what’s already out there in a smarter, more affordable way to connect businesses with the talent they need.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
The biggest highlight so far was landing our first global client after just one year. It was a game-changer—we helped them build teams in Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Now, 95% of our revenue comes from international clients, proving that our approach truly works on a global scale!
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
This year, I’m keeping a close eye on AI-powered recruitment and HR tech. The way AI is transforming how we find, evaluate, and engage talent is really exciting.
It’s speeding up the hiring process, improving how we match candidates with jobs, and making the entire experience smoother for everyone involved. As someone who’s passionate about innovation in the hiring space, I believe this trend has the potential to reshape the future of talent acquisition.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Focus on people and stay curious. Building relationships is everything in this industry, so make the effort to understand what candidates, clients, and colleagues truly need.
Also, be open to learning because recruitment is constantly evolving—especially with new tech and tools. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas, even if they seem unconventional; sometimes, that’s exactly where the biggest opportunities are.
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
I could talk for hours about how recruitment is truly borderless now. Imagine a recruiter in the Philippines finding and connecting top talent in the US, matching them with clients there—without ever leaving home.
Economic shifts have flattened the world, with companies from developed countries setting up hubs in developing regions to balance quality and cost. It’s exciting to see how global talent and opportunities are more connected than ever!
