ππΌ How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I work on supporting the working poor in Indonesia to achieve their financial wellness.
β
π§ What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
I wanted to become a doctor and be a practicing ballroom dancer, but things didn't go as planned. There was also a phase during my teenage years when I practiced ballroom dancing and participated in tournaments. That career path did not work out either.
β
π What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
Building GajiGesa with a positive social impact which has been recognised by the biggest impact organizations globally, such as Women World Banking and Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. Β
β
π What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?β
I am bullish on healthtech, agetech and longevity-tech. As we are seeing the global population's lifespan increasing, as well as a shift in the demographics towards the older population, many of us are asking how to not only live longer but also happily and in good health.
β
πΌ What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Building a sustainable business which brings positive impact, requires balanced thinking, at every stage, about revenue and end users.
β
βπ£ What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
Predatory lending and various financially exploitative practices globally, which leave those living at the bottom of the pyramid poorer.
Another thing I like to talk about, on the opposite spectrum, is a healthy lifestyle.
β
π₯ What's your favorite movie/TV show?
I will do some promotion here, there is a Polish movie currently available on Netflix - βForgotten Loveβ, it appeals well to foreign audiences and is set in the 1920s. Highly recommend watching it!
β
π¨ What's your go-to ice cream flavor?β
Hazelnut
