👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
We connect empty stomachs with empty restaurant tables. We do this by dynamic discounts that intensify users to visit restaurants at times when they are not full.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
The Eatigo founding team has 4 people and not a single engineer. The FunNow founding team is also 4 people and also no engineers!
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
Raising $25M and building a business worth over 4x the money raised to start it.
This shows the efficient deployment of capital and the value added by the founders. Also, the business had positive unit economics from day one and a clear path to profitability.
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
We are all watching the AI train. I am especially keen to see when, and how someone will bring the first truly functional, seamless voice interface that changes search and possibly computing as a whole for good.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Find a problem that somebody is willing to pay for to have it solved and solve it!
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
I don't have one, I have three! Sustainable Startups, my son's football career and Christian Apologetics.
🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?
Game of Thrones, and anything from Almodóvar or Wong Kar Wei
🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?
Cherry Sorbet!
