Rahul Bansal is the co-founder and CTO of BintanGO. They help content creators grow through financial solutions, productivity and monetization tools. Before BintanGO, he was Head of Technology at Sinar Mas.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

I'm building a platform for creators to manage and grow their businesses.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

As the CTO, you might imagine that I approach everything from a programming and technical angle. However, that's not true — a big part of what we do at BintanGO is understanding the problems creators are facing in Indonesia.

After we understand the core problems and how they're currently doing things, we then come up with the solutions and finally see how we can use technology to help them become more productive, earn more income and scale their businesses.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

My current job. To be at the forefront of innovation in the creator economy and actively involved in solving real issues is truly fulfilling.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?‍

Other than the creator economy, going to Mars.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

It's easy to get stuck in the details, but it's more important to always look at the bigger picture. Try to understand the user problem you're trying to solve, not just the technical part.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

Human nature and philosophy.

All things comedy.

It's definitely got to be chocolate.
