Somsubhra Gan Choudhuri is the co-founder and CEO of Ai Palette, an insights-driven concept-to-launch platform for the Consumer Packaged Good industry.

Before starting Ai Palette, he worked at the Givaudan, the world's largest flavor and fragrance company. AI Palette has recently raised $ 5.8M led by Tin Men Capital.

👋🏼  How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

I help consumer packaged goods companies create products that consumers will love using the power of Artificial intelligence.

🧐  What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

As a trained sensory panelist, I can analyze and describe the taste of any food or flavor, from the intricate notes of coffee to the simple taste of milk.

🏆  What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

We started Ai Palette in 2018 to help CPG companies find new ways to grow. Back then, using AI in this industry was just starting out, and many people weren't sure if it would work for CPG.

But now, seeing big CPG companies use our tools to launch successful products and sell more of their existing ones is incredibly rewarding.

🔍  What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

The emergence of Generative AI and the introduction of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT have profoundly altered our lives, yet we've barely begun to explore their potential.

The pace of advancements is rapid, and I eagerly anticipate the evolution of the next generation of LLMs.

💼  What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

To excel in the field of AI and carve out a successful career path, it's imperative to possess more than just proficiency in data science; a solid grasp of business fundamentals is equally essential.

Try to start your career in an early stage start-up which will give you exposure to both.

🗣  What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

Food and cuisines. I am a foodie and one of the main motivations for my travel is tasting different cuisines.

🎥  What's your favorite movie/TV show?

My favorite TV show is Drive to Survive, as F1 is a sport where corporate entities race and also there is a ton of teamwork that goes into making a team successful. This show captures this very well.

🍨  What's your go-to ice cream flavor?

Yuzu, I love its zesty and refreshing taste.
