Dr. Viknish Krishnan Kutty is the founder of Cellivate Technologies. They use deeptech to lower the cost of growing cells for different applications. They’re also raising a $1M round to scale up and service the orders they have, and to reach a wider customer base.
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I create technologies and products that allow less animals to be killed for our needs.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
One, the premise of the way we do what we do was instilled in me more than 30 years ago. And even as a founder, I suffer from major imposter syndrome too.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
After getting my PhD, it’s winning the CNA’s The Big Spark!

What I’m watching is specific to what we are doing. It’s Cell therapy!
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Spend time identifying and properly articulating the need you are trying to fulfill.
