Don’t dump your used cooking oils (UCOs)! Here’s Arus Oil, a Malaysian startup that buys UCOs from households and businesses. Now, they just raised fresh $$$!

Investor check. 1337 Ventures led the round.

  • The amount raised was not disclosed.

🧑‍🍳 The ABCs of Arus Oil

Founded in 2017 as a community initiative, Arus Oil first started by providing people with centralized recycling points for UCOs. (Sound familiar? Here’s our article on a similar Indonesian startup, Noovoleum.)

It has since shifted focus entirely on oil recycling.

  • How does their oil collection system work? Register to their app, check the daily selling rates of UCOss, and notify their logistics team when you’re ready to sell. BTW, they offer door-to-door collection.

🛢️ Big plans ahead

1337 Ventures has helped Arus Oil establish partnerships with over 20 corporate clients.

  • They’ll also continue to help the startup refine their mobile collection systems, drive research and development, and scale operations.
