Malaysia’s DF Auto nets $1.85M to fuel expansion goals

November 19, 2024

Need a hand? Malaysia-based robotics company DF Automation & Robotics (DF Auto) designs and manufactures industrial autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). And they just raised $1.85M in fresh funds!

Investor check. Vynn Capital led the round through its mobility and supply chain fund backed by KWAP, Sime Darby Berhad, MAVCAP, and other strategic limited partners.

  • The Malaysian Technology Development Corporation, Leave a Nest Capital, and individual investors also pitched in through equity crowdfunding.

🤖 Bots, roll out

AMRs are mobile robots that can navigate independently from point A to point B, making them ideal for manufacturers who want to increase productivity and reduce labor costs.

Need to transport heavy and repetitive loads from the production line to the packaging station? AMRs can handle it!

  • DF Auto has five AMR models that are designed with specific loads, purposes, and capabilities in mind.
  • For example, their Zalpha model is a flexible AMR that can transfer trays and pallets via its specialized towing, lifting, or hooking capabilities.

Why it’s important? AMRs promote safety in factories. Why? Carrying heavy and repetitive loads is risky for humans, but not for AMRs!

🇲🇾 Homegrown

Founded in 2012, DF Auto has worked with multinational companies like Panasonic, Samsung, Intel, Sony, Yamaha, and more!

  • According to a company statement, they have a client base across SEA as well as in India, Ireland, and Malta.
  • They’ll use the $$$ to support business growth and expansion.
