Okapi raises funding led by The Radical Fund to make solar power accessible for homeowners

June 25, 2024

Hey there, sunshine! Meet Okapi Technologies. This solar financing startup just raised an undisclosed round of funding and launched in Malaysia!

  • They’ve established commercial partnerships with dozens of solar companies in Malaysia.
  • Since they launched 18 months ago, they’ve kept to a 0% late payment and default rate!

Investor check. The Radical Fund led the round. Several strategic angel investors, including Ninja Van co-founders Chang Wen Lai and Shaun Chong also joined in!

🌞 Here comes the sun

We all know shifting to solar power is great. But what’s not great? How expensive it is to buy and install the panels upfront

That’s where solar leasing comes in! Okapi allows you to easily switch to solar without any upfront costs.

  • Start saving on your energy bill from day one. No more waiting years to hit breakeven and finally see some savings.
  • There’s zero downpayment. All you’ll need to do is pay fixed monthly payments for up to 10 years based on the size of the solar panel installation.
  • They did the math. Their  instant credit decisioning engine makes sure your monthly payments will still allow you to hit cashflow positive and get energy cost savings!

And they also reduce the hassle! They help you take care of the end-to-end process and connect you with all the right people.

  • Their platform connects clean energy investors with solar dealers, installers, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPCs) nationwide through a comprehensive embedded financing and project management solution.
  • Once you register your interest, they’ll send you a proposal with their Installer-Partners, work with you until it’s finalized, then have the installation done!

🤑 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll keep developing solutions to democratize access to affordable solar energy for all homeowners.
