Payment infrastructure provider Pomelo Group acquires fintech Arrow Checkout

#JustGotAcquired! Pomelo Group, which helps financial institutions and enterprises offer modern payment solutions, announced the acquisition of Singapore-based Arrow Checkout

Launched in 2017 in London, Pomelo Group has a presence in Europe and SEA. Namely, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. 

  • Oh, and they’re also privately held and backed by Inference Partners and Force Over Mass Capital.
  • The firm raised $10M Series A last November 2021, according to their website.

Arrow was founded in 2021 by experts from Grab and Tencent. Over 100 merchants used their tech to make the checkout process easier for customers. 

Arrow integrates with e-commerce platforms or through APIs to allow merchants to replace their existing storefronts. 

  • In 2022, Arrow raised $4.8M from Sequoia Capital India (now Peak XV), Alpha JWC, Zinal Growth, and angel investors.

With the acquisition, the Arrow executives will join the Pomelo team in Singapore. 

  • Neo Liat Beng (co-founder and CEO) will join as Pomelo’s Chief Product Officer.
  • Sebastian Roervig (co-founder) will join as VP of Sales and Business Development.
  • Sudhan Raj (CTO) will strengthen the engineering talent at Pomelo.
