Reforged Labs raises $3.9M seed to transform marketing for game studios

August 12, 2024

Reforged Labs isn’t just playing. Founded in February this year, thy use AI to supercharge marketing for game studios.

Oh, and they just raised a $3.9M seed!

Investor check. DCM Ventures led the round. Y Combinator, Epakon Capital, Goodwater Capital, Phoenix Fund Asymmetry Ventures also joined in.

  • 👼🏻: The founders of King and Sky Mavis, as well as executives from Niantic and Pocket also invested.

🎮  The problem

Marketing is difficult, expensive, and unpredictable for game studios. For many, it’s one of their largest expenses.

  • Player acquisition is key to the success of a game.

It takes weeks just to conceptualize, produce, measure, and iterate on each video ad.

Their usual options? In-house designers and analysts or rely on expensive outsourced help and difficult-to-use data tools.

  • Both options aren’t great.  None can make sure ad performance will be reliable.

😉  Until Reforged Labs

They focus on building AI models to create video ads for games. This helps game studios master ad performance faster than ever.

  • Video ads dominate user acquisition across every ad category and ad platform.
  • The issue with video? You have to fight ad fatigue, rising costs, and the complexities of the experiments you need to run.

Changing the game. Conceptualizing and storyboarding ads is 5x faster with Reforged.

  • This means it can shorten some of the process from days or weeks to as fast as minutes.

What this means? Less laggy feedback loops between designers and marketers, as well as better ad performs—so more clicks and more ROI per ad.
