StashAway

Hey hey, it's StashAway! This Singaporean startup just raised a new round, including a strategic investment from global private markets solutions provider Hamilton Lane.

While the amount's hush-hush, VentureCap Insights estimates the amount raised to be $12.6M.

  • Founded in 2016, they're active in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and the UAE.

👀 What they're all about

They make it simple, accessible and effective to invest and build wealth — no matter where you are in your investment journey.

Forget using stock investing apps! Level up with their globally-diversified and data-driven offerings that they manage for you. You don't need to do a thing — just watch your money grow!

  • Worried? Don't be. There's zero minimum investment or balance, and you can withdraw all your $$$ anytime for free.

Not so young after all. While they've built a rep for attracting new retail investors, their market is people aged 30-45. Oh, and as of 2021, 20% of their assets under management are from high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).

🤑 Their moneymakin' ways

Going long-term. Their General Investing product is all about long-term, diversified and professionally managed portfolios built with cost-effective ETFs.

  • Choose from three options: one focused on ESG, another powered by BlackRock and a final one by StashAway.

Diversify! Added to that, they offer other portfolios for you to diversify and personalize your investments even further.

  • Thematic portfolios to invest in trends you believe in, Flexible Portfolios you can customize yourself and an Income Portfolio focused on generating passive income.

Save, save, save. Choose StashAway Simple or Simple Plus to earn up to 1.9% (Simple) 2.7%–3.2% P.A. (Simple Plus) on any amount you save.

🤔 In context

They laid off 14% of staff (31 people) in June but did expand their investment team and said they're looking to launch new products — which may be part of what they'll be doing with this new $$$.

The new lane. The strategic investment from Hamilton Lane will allow StashAway to tap them for strategic advice on private markets investment methodology and product development.
