UENA's everyone's affordable online food court

September 13, 2022
UENA

We can't just order food online for all our meals every day! It's just way too expensive. But that's changing with UENA — they've got meals for as low as $1 (yup, we aren't kidding)! Oh, and they just raised a seed round led by East Ventures.

Investor check. IDN Media and several angels also joined in.

😋 Your online food court

They're here to be Indonesians' online food court for the mass market with high-quality, reliable and affordable meals for anyone to enjoy.

Sure, the pandemic made online deliveries boom — but not for everyone. A ton of people still head to streetside vendors for affordable meals.

  • The issue? Vendors usually offer just one or a limited set of items on the menu, and every stall has different levels of quality and hygiene.

🍽 How it works

They operate a network of hyperlocal cloud kitchens strategically placed in crowded areas, with each meal being 15,000 IDR (~$1).

  • Their target customers? Office workers, convenience store employees, university students and delivery app riders.
  • Just order on WhatsApp, a food delivery app or their UENA app.

Classic meals you won't get sick of. Forget the fun and fusion dishes! They offer Indonesian classics like Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Ayam Goreng (fried chicken) and Soto Ayam (chicken soup).

Optimized for you. Every location serves a 1KM radius, has a limited size and limited (yet efficient) staff and leverages tech and automation like cooking robots.

  • This lowers costs, increases efficiency and makes deliveries fast!

🚀 What's next?

They'll be using the $$$ to open more kitchens and acquire more customers.

  • Plus, depending on customer behavior, they'll be adding more offerings like full meals, light meals, and drinks.
