UnaBiz

Here's UnaBiz. This Singapore-based IoT startup has just raised a $25M Series B extension!

Investor check. The round was led by Sparx Group. G K Goh Holdings and Optimal Investment also joined in!

  • They raised an initial $25M+ Series B last year, bringing the total Series B to around $50M.

🤓 What's the (Una)biz?

Founded in 2016, they offer IoT solutions. They'll help you design them custom to your business, manufacture them and even manage the connectivity and data platform services needed!

  • They even have ready-to-use products and more.
  • Like what? Cold chain monitoring, global tracking for cargo, smart airports, security alarm backups and more.

What sets them apart? They've got advanced hardware designs, as well as deep connections to Singapore and Taiwan's supply chains and ecoystems. They also have scalable, cost-efficient and energy-efficient solutions!

💪🏼 Powering up

Earlier this year, they acquired France-based leading IoT firm Sigfox after it filed for bankruptcy, including its 0G network. And it's no small company — they connect over 10M sensors for 1,500 companies through their 0G network through 70+ national 0G operators globally.

  • The deal was estimated to be about 25M EUR ($26M).
  • No, 0G isn't the predecessor of 5G. Sigfox 0G is a solution used to connect sensors and devices, and it's inexpensive, reliable and low-powered.

They also added a new R&D center in France, their second center after their R&D center in Taipei.

🚀 What's next?

The new $$$ is for sales, product and R&D. They'll be investing in four verticals (utilities, security, facilities management and supply chain and logistics) across LatAm, APAC and EMEA.

  • They'll continue integrating low-power WAN and satellite IoT, while also expanding the scale and scope of their UnaConnect data platform.
  • Apart from that, they'll also enhance their core low-power 0G capabilities and allow cost-effective long-range connectivity for very low-value assets.
